JULY SPEAKER BIOS

PASTOR SHARON ORTIZ

Sharon was born in Korea and raised in San Francisco. She graduated from Lowell High School, then went to UC Davis where she majored in English and minored in Communications. She has completed coursework toward a Master of Divinity at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. She served as a Youth Pastor before entering her most important ministry of being a stay-at-home mom. Sharon met Jesus personally while worshiping to the hymn, “Yes, Jesus Loves Me” during Vacation Bible School at the age of eight years old. She has been and will continue to grow into this faith and work it out for a lifetime. Sharon and her husband, Carlos, and their three beautiful children reside in the East Bay. In her leisure time, Sharon enjoys a good book, a good meal, a great cup of coffee, jigsaw puzzles, being in the kitchen, and being with her family in nature.


BROTHER ZAC POONEN

Zac Poonen was formerly an Indian Naval Officer who has been serving the Lord in India for over 50 years as a Bible-teacher. He has responsibility for a number of churches in India and abroad.

He has written more than 30 books and numerous articles in English - which have been translated into many Indian and foreign languages. His messages are available on audio CDs and video DVDs.

Like the other elders in CFC, Zac Poonen also supports himself and his family through "tent-making" and does not receive any salary for his services. He does not receive any royalty for any of his books, CDs or DVDs, that are published by Christian Fellowship Centre, Bangalore.

Brother Zac has been married to Sister Annie Poonen since 1968. They have four sons that are married with children and live in the USA.


PASTOR JEFF MILLER

Jeff Miller is the Lead Pastor at Redwood Chapel in Castro Valley, CA. A native of the East Bay, Jeff married his wife, Heather, in 1998 and together they have three daughters – Rayah, Ashly, and Eliana. Jeff pursued is ministry education at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL (BA) and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY (MDiv). In addition to his role at Redwood Chapel, Jeff has been actively involved in his community, serving as the long-time director of the Bay Area Church Workers Convention (BASS Convention), serving as president of a local community swim team, and coaching high school boys and girls volleyball teams.
