This is a great opportunity to serve with your family or Study Group as we get to know the residents who are transitioning to sustainable housing.

CITY SERVE'S "HEARTY HARVEST" THANKSGIVING

City Serve's "Hearty Harvest" provides non-perishable food items to families in need within the Tri-City area. City Serve personally connects with each family before referring them to the various church sites. Justice & Compassion would like your help with donating non-perishable food items and assembling 30 bags of groceries on Sunday, Nov 8 (from 11:30AM–1PM in JCC, E-104) to be delivered to our partner church, Iglesia Intimidad con Dios, in Fremont. This is a unique way to reach the unchurched. Bins are available in the JCC lobby through November 8.

WARM COAT & NEW SOCK DRIVE
Sundays, Nov 8–Dec 6 | JCC Lobby | 9:30AM–12PM
You can bring warmth and encouragement to unhoused patrons around the Bay Area by donating your lightly used warm coats and new socks for CityTeam to distribute to our communities in need. (Socks must be the original packaging.) Items can be dropped off at the JCC lobby in the bins before or after service from Sunday, November 8 through December 6.

HOMELESS
ALCF's Homeless Ministry strives to encourage those in despair and convey hope through acts of service that exemplify Christ's unconditional love, proclaim the saving message of the Gospel and welcome those in need of finding their true home in Christ.
Ways to Serve:
Preparing and serving food
Distributing toiletries and clothing
Organizing street and shelter activities throughout the year
Collecting and praying over written prayer requests monthly
We currently have openings to serve dinner to the unhoused at Street Life (hosted by Palo Alto First Christian Church) on second Mondays.

JAIL
ALCF’s Jail, Juvenile Hall and Prison Ministry is a valuable asset to the local community. By encouraging inmates in local correctional facilities through the Word, worship and prayer, our ministry teams have seen the lives of men, women and youth fully surrendered to our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Ways to Serve:
Leading monthly services and Bible studies
Building relationships through prayer and fellowship
Exhorting, equipping and providing assistance to inmates

Over 60% of nursing home residents do not receive regular visits from family and friends. Through ALCF’s ElderCare ministry, we have an opportunity to pray and fellowship with seniors at nursing care facilities who may feel forgotten or are unable to attend a regular church service.
We currently have openings to serve at Los Altos Sub-Acute & Rehabilitation Center on Wednesdays for Bible Study and first Sundays for worship.

Hope Horizon (formerly Bayshore Christian Ministries) offers after-school academic tutoring, life skills workshops, year-round Bible clubs, leadership development opportunities, summer academic enrichment and interest-based programs for elementary, junior and senior high school students in East Palo Alto.

CITY SERVE
City Serve (formerly Compassion Network) unites and coordinates volunteers from over 70 Bay Area church congregations to serve as one body of Christ in meeting the basic needs of low income individuals and families, seniors, homeless, immigrants, and single moms in the Tri-City areas—Fremont, Union City and Newark.

Joni & Friends is dedicated to extending the love and message of Christ to people who are affected by disability. JAF's objective is to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and families in practical ways which include respite events, family retreats, and distribution of donated wheel chairs and other equipment.

RealOptions Obria Medical Clinics provide peer counseling, pregnancy testing, prenatal care for the uninsured, childbirth classes, medical services, support groups, baby items and other practical assistance to men and women with unplanned pregnancies, all of which are offered at no charge.
