What is changing?

  • We are launching Young Adult Growth Groups that will meet in homes during the week.  Most of these new groups will do Bible Study in addition to providing a small group context for fellowship, sharing and prayer.
  • We are reformatting our Friday large group fellowship times to focus on a monthly topical discipleship area.
    • The first week of every month we will host a speaker
    • The second week of every month will be a large group Bible study format
    • The third week of every month will be a service centered on worship, prayer, and practically integrating and living out the teaching of the first two weeks.
  • The beginning of our new large group fellowship format will be hosting Pastor Paul at Friday, October 9th at 7 PM!  He will be speaking on Hearing God's Voice and Knowing God's Will.
Why are the changes happening?
  • The main goal of ALCF's Young Adult Ministry is to see all young adults growing actively in their relationship with God and growing deeply in Christian friendship with other believers.
  • While our present format was accomplishing this goal in part, we feel like we can do better.  We especially felt like the small group Bible Study breakouts on Friday night had reached a plateau in building effective small group community, which is so important for spiritual health and growth.
  • The intention of this new structure is to foster deeper connections in small groups in a home environment, while being able to offer challenging and practical discipleship in our large group fellowship times.
What are the next steps for me?
  1. Get involved in a Young Adult Growth Group.
  2. Come join us on October 9th at 7 PM as we host Pastor Paul speaking on Hearing God's Voice and Knowing God's Will.
  3. Explore ways to get involved in the Young Adult community.
