We all need a hero, a model we can look up to and emulate. In the course of history, there is no one who knows about life and love better than the person of Jesus, the Christ. Therefore, we exist to transform students into lifelong followers, disciples of Jesus; to obey His teachings, to live as He lived.
Welcome to the wild world of student ministries!
There is no greater joy than to know that your life is having a positive influence in the world, and no one is more receptive to that influence than young people. Adolescents are in the formational years, making decisions that will guide the direction of their lives. Our calling as youth workers, as parents, and as followers of Jesus is to be directly involved with their lives. Those relationships lay a critical foundation for students to understand the fullness of life found in a personal, saving relationship with Jesus.
The Student Ministries Department is continually developing environments and experiences that will help students engage the realities of this truth together. Why? Because learning about this kind of discipleship cannot be done alone. It must be done in a community. Whether you are a student or a parent, you are invited to participate in this amazing journey.
"Students are not above their teacher, but all who are fully trained will be like their teacher." - Luke 6:40 (TNIV)
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." - 1 Timothy 4:12 (TNIV)
