ALCF's Web Development Team

The ALCF IT department is always looking for volunteers to join the ALCF Web Development Team.  The team is responsible for maintaining existing web-based applications, as well as architecting, designing and building out new platforms.

Join a team of fellow web development volunteers to supplement the current staff.  The team is looking for skilled and experienced individuals who can put in at least 3-5 hours per week to volunteer their time and talents in the following areas:
Information Architects
  • Expertise in building UI and process flows for online, web-based applications
  • Passion for usability and user-focused design
UI / Visual Designers
  • Background in graphics design for the web
  • Strong aesthetic sense
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Web Developers
  • Proficient with HTML5 and CSS3 coding
  • Detailed-oriented with expertise in cross-browser compatibility
  • Wordpress expertise a big plus
Software Engineers
  • Experience with database-driven web-based development
  • Strong background in OO design and programming (preferably in Java or .NET)
  • Experience with LAMP-based architecture (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) and with Source Code Management systems (git)
