What is a growth group?

Growth Groups are Bible study and fellowship gatherings consisting of 6 to 12 people. Group Leaders are facilitators that receive support and oversight from ALCF staff.

Why should I join a group?

Church is done in circles and not just in pews. Continue your walk with Christ with others. Face trials together. Hold each other accountable. Study the Word of God (Proverbs 27:17).

How often do groups meet?

Most groups meet weekly, others meet bi-weekly, monthly, or at very specific intervals. We intend for groups to meet consistently but the exact rhythm is defined by the group and its leaders (Acts 2:46-47).

What is the general audience for groups?

We are a multi-ethnic and multi-generational church and our Growth Groups reflect that vision at ALCF (Revelation 7:9).

We have groups for many audiences:

Everyone: the life stage will vary by group and all are welcome

Men: these groups support and build up men of all ages

Women: these groups support and build up women of all ages

Families: these groups support people with families that want to incorporate their lives with other families

Mothers: these groups support mothers

Seekers: these groups for people curious about Jesus and what it means to walk with Him

Young Adults: these groups cater to the 18 to late 30s crowd

Is there a set agenda for group discussions?

Not currently. Group Leaders are responsible for the curriculum. We provide online resources that groups may lean on to study Scripture. Though there isn't a prescribed agenda, groups focus on the Bible for it is the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Do I have to commit to a group after I visit it?

There is no commitment required to visit a group. When you find a group that fits your needs; that speaks grace and truth into your life, then we recommend that you commit to it for a season. Many groups have lived life together for multiple years.
