Worship Band

Here at ALCF, our praise and worship is considered a vital part of our weekend services. Our team of worship leaders facilitate our expression of worship through a blend of musical styles. This seasoned group of instrumentalists provide support to our worship experience. Audition is required for participation.

Ministry

Scheduled rotation for weekend services. Ministry weekend consists of services on Saturday at 4:30PM, and Sunday at 8:30AM and 11AM. Praise and Worship starts 10 minutes early each service.


Requirements

+ Have a born again experience and live a life in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ 
+ Be a member of ALCF (having attended the Exploring Membership class)
+ Faithfully attend the services of ALCF for at least 6 months, or provide references
+ Be at least 18 years old 
+ Be vitally committed to serving the Lord through music ministry at ALCF
+ Attend ALL choir rehearsals leading up to a ministry weekend
+ Participate in ALL ministry weekend services that the worship band is scheduled
+ Punctuality: Team members are required to be on-time for all rehearsals and services
+ Preparedness: Team members are required to learn the music assigned through personal study and rehearsal (in addition to team rehearsals)


Worship Band Audition Requirements

The music at ALCF ranges from Christian Rock to Gospel/R&B--with it being more skewed towards Gospel/R&B. Therefore, you will be asked to demonstrate your ability to play within these genres. Depending upon which instrument you play, our bassist and/or drummer may assist during the audition.

In the audition process you will need to exhibit the following characteristics and abilities:

Music proficiency
+ Proficiency in all keys
+ Ear training--ability to learn a song without a chart
+ Basic chord theory

An ability to play within an ensemble
+ It goes without saying--your instrument(s) must fit within a rhythm section
+ Musical sensitivity--knowing when to play, and when not to play

Similar to a symphony audition you will be asked to:
+ Bring a piece that you prepare
+ Bring a piece the you are given in advance of the audition
+ Play a simple unprepared piece that you and the band leader will play together

Nothing is too good for God. He deserves the best of my time, talent, and energy. He has given his all for me and I owe him my best efforts to multiply what he has given me. He is the ultimate judge of my efforts.
